Job description:

We are looking for a proactive and empathetic Disability and Mental Health Advisor to join our esteemed university. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive support to students, ensuring they have the necessary resources and personalised plans to achieve academic success and personal well-being. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering essential administrative support to students.
  • Managing and responding to student inquiries with efficiency and empathy.
  • Developing and implementing tailored support plans for students with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD), mental health needs, and autism.
  • Collaborating closely with students to address their unique requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Liaising effectively with university departments and external organisations.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of student support services.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development.

Expectations / Requirements:

We are seeking individuals with a proven ability to support vulnerable students. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or mental health challenges.
  • Previous experience working with SpLD, mental health, and autism is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability in support plan development.
  • A thorough understanding of disability support and mental health principles.
  • Immediate availability to commence employment.
