Are you passionate about giving young children the very best start to their learning journey? Hays Education is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teachers to support nurseries and primary schools across Eastbourne and the surrounding areas. With over 20 years of experience working with early years settings in Sussex, we are well‑placed to help you find flexible, rewarding work that suits your lifestyle and teaching style. Whether you thrive on the variety of day‑to‑day supply or prefer the stability of a longer‑term role, we can connect you with opportunities where you will feel valued and supported.
Working with early learners is a unique and deeply rewarding experience. As an Early Years Supply Teacher with Hays, you'll play a vital role in creating safe, nurturing environments where children feel confident, curious and ready to explore the world around them. You may work across Nursery, Reception or mixed early years settings, adapting your practice to meet the developmental needs of each group. Our partner schools and nurseries look for warm, creative teachers who can bring energy, structure and compassion to everything they do-and if that sounds like you, we'd love to welcome you to our supply team.
We support Early Career Teachers as well as experienced practitioners who bring a wealth of knowledge from across the Early Years Foundation Stage. Whether you are seeking additional flexibility, looking to broaden your experience or hoping to transition back into teaching, we will take the time to understand your goals and match you with roles that reflect your strengths and aspirations. You'll also have the reassurance of ongoing guidance from our experienced consultants, who are here to support you, answer questions and ensure you feel confident wherever you are placed.
What We're Looking ForWe are keen to hear from applicants who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or equivalent Early Years qualifications, and who have experience working in nursery or primary school environments. A genuine love of early childhood education is essential, along with the ability to build trusting relationships, deliver engaging play‑based learning and create a calm, nurturing atmosphere where children feel safe and inspired to learn.
Why Work with Hays Education?Choosing Hays Education means choosing flexibility, support and excellent opportunities for professional growth. You decide how often you work-whether that's one day a week, a few days here and there, or a full‑time schedule.
