We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our South East Water framework, based in Lenham. This role plays a key part in supporting the successful commercial delivery of essential infrastructure projects that help maintain and improve vital water services for local communities.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…
- Leading commercial management activities across infrastructure delivery projects
- Working alongside commercial leadership to ensure contract obligations, risks and opportunities are fully understood and effectively managed
- Managing and mentoring a team of commercial professionals to drive development, performance and delivery of contract requirements
- Building strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, supply chain partners and key stakeholders
- Contributing to the development of project budgets, forecasts and cost control measures
- Supporting weekly and monthly cost value reconciliation processes to enable informed business decisions
- Managing project cash flow by maximising income recovery and reducing work in progress exposure
- Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations in line with contract requirements
- Overseeing subcontract procurement, ensuring packages are placed on appropriate commercial terms and administered in line with company procedures
- Providing commercial guidance and expertise to operational delivery teams
- Managing final account negotiations and commercial close-out activities
- Driving continuous improvement in commercial processes and project delivery performance
- You bring strong commercial experience working within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure contractor environments and have operated at Senior Quantity Surveyor level managing complex contract arrangements, alongside strong technical construction knowledge.
We would love to hear from you if…
You have a solid understanding of construction contracts, particularly NEC forms of contract, and experience managing contractual compliance and commercial risk. You will be confident preparing and managing cost value reconciliations, cost forecasting and financial reporting, with proven experience managing project cash flow and supporting final account negotiations. You will also demonstrate excellent negotiation skills when working with subcontractors, suppliers and clients, ensuring best value outcomes while maintaining strong working relationships.
Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders at all levels. You will be proactive, detail-focused and comfortable working within fast-paced project environments, managing competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and performance. Experience mentoring and supporting the development of junior commercial team members, alongside providing commercial guidance to operational delivery teams, is also highly valued.
