Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex (close to Colchester, Ipswich & London)
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time considered

About the Practice

This independent small animal practice in Clacton-on-Sea is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly team. Just a five-minute walk from the beach, the practice combines seaside living with excellent connections to Colchester, Ipswich, and London.

The practice is proudly RCVS, ISFM, and RWAF accredited and operates as a Veterinary Nurse Training Centre, emphasizing continuous learning, development, and a supportive work environment. Facilities

The recently refurbished and extended practice offers modern, purpose-built facilities, including:

• Fully equipped operating theatre
• Video endoscopy and x-ray suite
• New ultrasound machine, dental x-ray, ECG, and tonometer
• Separate dog and cat wards and waiting areas
• Isolation facilities


Role & Responsibilities

The Veterinary Surgeon will provide high-quality care for small animals, working closely with a team of vets, nurses, and support staff. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing cases from start to finish and ensuring seamless handovers when required
• Supporting a positive, collaborative team culture
• Delivering care in line with the practice’s high standards


Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years UK clinical experience
• Excellent communication skills
• A collaborative and approachable approach to teamwork


Working Hours & Rota

• 4-day week
• Three 9:00am starts, one 8:30am start
• Two 5:30pm finishes, two 7:00pm finishes
• 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:00pm)
• Set day off each week
• No out-of-hours work
• Part-time hours considered
