Are you an enthusiastic and motivated nurse looking to specialise in an innovative and rewarding field?
We are seeking a Band 6 Laser Nurse Practitioner to join our specialist Laser Therapy Service, supporting patients from across Burns and Plastic Surgery. This is an exciting and autonomous role where you will deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based laser treatments and play a key part in achieving exceptional patient outcomes and experience.
As part of our dedicated Laser Therapy team, you will work closely with the Laser Therapy Lead to provide specialist treatment for a wide variety of burns and plastic surgical conditions. We’re looking for an energetic, compassionate practitioner with a passion for delivering outstanding care and a desire to continue developing their expertise within this specialist area. An interest in undertaking further training to support the future needs of the service is highly desirable.
We also welcome applications from those who may be suitable for a development position.
A Trainee Laser Nurse Practitioner will work towards developing the skills required to become an autonomous practitioner—assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating high‑quality, individualised patient care within the Laser Therapy Service.
Join us and help shape the future of laser therapy while transforming patient experiences.
• Safely deliver laser treatments for burns and plastics patients, ensuring a consistently positive patient experience.
• Undertake thorough patient assessments, support the informed consent process and provide clear information, education and reassurance throughout the treatment journey.
• Act as a patient advocate and maintain high clinical standards in line with Laser Local Rules, Trust policies and infection prevention requirements.
• Maintain a safe clinical environment in both the laser department and operating theatre, performing and documenting all essential safety checks.
• Independently assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised laser treatment programmes, identifying any risks or contraindications and providing aftercare guidance.
• Support the Laser Therapy Lead by providing clinical leadership, helping to maintain safe staffing levels and smooth workflow, and deputising when required.
• Act as Laser Protection Supervisor in the absence of the Laser Therapy Lead, ensuring the safety of patients, staff and visitors.
• Maintain accurate treatment documentation, monitor the performance of laser equipment and escalate any faults promptly.
• Manage your caseload efficiently and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support effective service delivery.
• Contribute to audit, quality improvement and clinical governance activities, including incident and near‑miss reporting via Datix.
Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust.

We look forward to your application!
