Sewing Machinist
We are recruiting for a Sewing Machinist on a fulltime permanent basis. This role sits within a specialist manufacturing environment based in South Hereford and will play a key role in the production process, operating industrial sewing machinery to manufacture high-quality textile and webbing-based products.
What You Can Expect
•A full-time, permanent position
•Salary £29’000 per annum
•Monday to Friday working pattern, 7:00am – 4:00pm
•On-site benefits including free daily lunches
•20 days annual leave per annum
•Participation in a company-wide bonus scheme
What You Will Be Doing
•Organising and maintaining an efficient and tidy workstation
•Operating specialist industrial sewing machines, including programmable pattern machines, bartackers, and lockstitch machines
•Operating webbing cutting machinery
•Selecting and using appropriate sewing machine programmes
•Working to detailed work instructions and production specifications
•Adjusting machine settings to suit different materials and required finishes
•Checking finished products against pattern instructions and quality standards
•Carrying out routine machine cleaning, oiling, and basic maintenance
•Applying approved sewing techniques and production methods
•Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
•Allocating and supporting workflow as required within the production team
What We Are Looking For
•Previous experience as a Sewing Machinist or within sewing/textiles manufacturing (essential)
•Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
•Ability to work accurately and consistently to deadlines
•Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
•Ability to work independently using own initiative
•A responsible and safety-conscious approach to work
