Crynodeb
I am a 36-year-old man who has a great sense of humour. My brain is very active and if it is in my head then I say it out loud! In many ways I present as if I have ASD and ADHD, but I am not formally diagnosed with these. I do have a diagnosis of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome and learning disability. I also have developmental trauma from a challenging start in life when I experienced neglect and abuse. This leads to me becoming very scared and very anxious, both easily and often. The right attitude and skill set is the most important factors for my PA.
Driver required to take me out.
Hours of work
Initially two evenings a week from 4/5/6-8/9pm
(we can be flexible with days and times), occasional day trips and/or overnights by arrangement. There is scope for increased hours for the right person. Sometimes daytime walks with Swansea Ramblers.
Rate of pay.
£13.13 per hour
Essential:
I need you to:
• Help me with learning to be more independent
• Play with me with my stuff
• Take me out on cycle rides, walks and magnet fishing - when the weather is ok!
• Take me climbing and trampolining.
• Help me pack my toys and gadgets away safely
Desirable
I’d like you to:
• Take me for some days out
I’d like support with:
• My practical skills are better than my emotional capacity to carry out tasks/activities especially if I see them as a ‘demand’.
• I need you to do things WITH me, not FOR me.
I will need my PA to:
• Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
• Be confident, mature and have patience.
• Be dependable and arrive on time.
• Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
• Be adaptable and flexible.
• Be supportive but not take over.
• Listen to my mum when she tells you about me and my needs.
• Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
