School Administrator and Receptionist – Full-time, long-term temporary role with potential to become permanent starting as soon as possible
This school provides a calm, structured, and supportive environment where pupils benefit from strong pastoral systems and staff who understand their individual needs. Leaders work closely with administrative teams to maintain high standards of organisation, communication, and safeguarding. Staff feel supported, valued, and able to contribute positively to the smooth running of the school.
Duties as School Administrator and Receptionist:
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors, pupils, and staff
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries
- Perform administrative duties including filing, data entry, and managing school systems
- Support attendance, pastoral, and safeguarding administration as required
- Assist with daily reception duties and maintain a welcoming front‑of‑house environment
- Coordinate with staff across the school to ensure efficient communication
- Use discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and maintain accurate records
- Experience in school administration or reception roles is essential
- Confident working in a secondary environment supporting pupils with SEMH needs
- Must be a driver and willing to obtain business insurance if needed
- Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills
- Able to manage a busy front office environment calmly and professionally
- Friendly, reliable, and confident when engaging with pupils, including those with SEMH needs
- Able to work full-time, 37 hours per week (8am–4pm, 3:30pm finish Fridays)
