Spon Gate is a one-form entry primary school serving pupils aged 3-11. In its most recent Ofsted inspection in April 2023, the school was judged to be good in all areas. The school is currently in the middle of a significant building programme, with a brand-new school scheduled for 2027.

Our Values

Spon Gate Primary School is situated in the heart of Coventry. We are proud of our inclusive and caring ethos, and work with children and families from all over the world.

What is the job role?

Deputy Headteacher L10-14 (£64,691 - £71,330 FTE) 3 days a week

Headteacher L15-21 (£73,105 - £84,699 FTE) 2 days a week

Full-time, permanent from September 2026

  • A champion of inclusivity with a genuine passion for ensuring that every child thrives
  • Committed to nurturing the development, wellbeing and professional growth of all staff
  • An excellent communicator who is both engaging and encouraging

Interview Date: 17th & 18th March 2026

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre-employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references.

Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
