A meaningful role supporting someone to live life to the fullest

We are looking for caring, reliable and confident Support Workers to join a small team supporting an individual who lives at home with their family in Leigh. This person has DiGeorge syndrome, which affects their learning, behaviour, speech, hearing, and physical health, including some heart issues— and they rely on a consistent team who truly understand them.

They love nothing more than baking, being read to, and listening to their Tonie box - they're particularly fond of country music. Snuggling up to watch Disney films is another favourite pastime. As a key part of their support team, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in their life. We'll be looking for someone who can bring enriching activities and experiences to the table, as well as a compassionate and empathetic approach that puts their needs and desires at the forefront. If you have previous experience working with individuals with complex needs, we'd love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

As a Support Worker, you’ll play an important role in helping this individual live safely, comfortably, and in a way that reflects their preferences. Your day might include:

  • Providing high‑quality support on a 2:1 basis
  • Creating opportunities for meaningful activities at home and in the community
  • Encouraging social interaction and promoting emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting communication in the way that works best for them
  • Helping with routine household tasks to maintain a calm, organised environment

This is a role where your presence genuinely makes a difference every day.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for people who already have experience in:

  • Complex Care
  • Great communication
  • Behaviours that may be perceived as challenging

Just as important is your ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and build positive, trusting relationships.
