Make a difference in Haematology/Oncology Care in the Community!

Are you a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional? Join our Community Cancer team as a phlebotomist and become a vital part of our service.

You’ll provide crucial community support to patients managing blood disorders and cancer, offering care, comfort, and a listening ear during, before, during and after treatment, in their own homes or at our outreach clinics.

The post holder will deliver compassionate, high-quality, skilled care under the guidance of a Registered Practitioner, ensuring patient privacy, dignity, and individualised care.

Apply today!

Please note: banding of post will depend on skills achieved by applicants and the current Band 3 pathway.

This is a cross site position working along side both the Hinchingbrooke Community Cancer Nursing (HCCN) team and the Peterborough Community Cancer Nursing team (PCCN). You will be visiting patients in their homes, with some outreach clinic support, being a vital part of the phlebotomy service. You do need to have excellent phlebotomy skills already, as you will be a lone worker in the community. You will also need a clean and full driving licence, as well as excellent communication skills. This can be a demanding role and it is essential you enjoy being a team player, as well as working alone.

Our community service is exciting, innovative and challenging. This is a great opportunity for you to join a highly skilled, dynamic, enthusiastic and friendly multidisciplinary team. Committed to ongoing staff development, providing excellent educational opportunities.

Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust’s redeployment process.

Please see attached detailed Job Description and Person Specification for more information regarding this role.
