Job Title: Ward Receptionist – Supporting People with Learning Disabilities & Autism
Location: Brooklands Hospital
37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Brooklands Hospital is home to several specialist secure wards supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. Together, we make an incredible difference to people’s lives, but our patients can sometimes become distressed, which can be upsetting to see. Our ward and staff teams are highly skilled to manage these situations and ensure the wellbeing of both patients and staff across our wards. We want to be upfront about what to expect, and while it can be challenging at times, it is also an incredibly rewarding environment to grow your career and make a difference.
We’re looking for aWard Clerk who are calm, friendly, and proactive – people who understand the importance of a warm welcome and can help keep our busy wards running smoothly.
This is more than an admin role – you’ll be a key part of the team supporting individuals with complex needs, helping to create a positive and safe environment for both patients and staff.
What you’ll do:
• Greet visitors and professionals in a calm, respectful way
• Handle ward admin and support daily operations
• Help create a safe, supportive environment for patients with LD&A
• Be a key team member in a busy, rewarding setting
• Scanning and uploading important documents and data accurately and promptly
• Helping to keep records accurate and up to date.
