Location of Role : Aylesford, ME20 7GU
Description / Details of the Role:
To assist my SEN child to access social activities in the community
To provide support and assistance to my child at home (after school during term
time)
Requirements:
● Flexibility (4pm x 2 days a week required during term time)
● Full clean driving licence
● Demonstrable experience with SEN ASD / ADHD teen agers with sensory
difficulties essential
● Caring, compassionate attitude, commitment both on term time and holidays
● Good communication skills
● Trained in de-escalation procedures in case of childs distress or meltdown in
the community (rare but could happen in environments too busy or
stimulating)
Key main tasks: (Include any specialised training /knowledge if required)
Main Tasks of the PA Role
● �� Home-Based Support (Term-Time, After School 4pm)
● Provide supervision and companionship at home after school or week-end
● Assist with winding down after school, including snacks, homework support
(if applicable), or calming activities
● Support with personal care tasks as needed (e.g., hygiene, toileting, dressing)
● Encourage and model life skills such as tidying up, organizing
school materials, or preparing a simple snack
● Maintain a calm, positive attitude
● �� Community Access & Social Activities (All Year, Especially Holidays)
● Plan and accompany the child to social and recreational activities
(e.g., swimming, soft play, library, park visits)
● Support the child in recreational activities
● Provide transport if required
Hourly rate of pay: £ 13.39 (Direct Payments from KCC) self-employed
Hours available: 5 hours term time. 10 hours on holidays.
An enhanced DBS for working with children will be required, which KCC will arrange.
