Crynodeb
The post holder will: Provide consultant leadership to the multidisciplinary ward team Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of the mental and physical health for 11 acutely ill adult female inpatients Carry out all Responsible Clinicians duties for those patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, maintaining all care planning in line with legal requirements. These duties will include: assessing patients under the Mental Health Act, capacity assessments, consent to treatment, tribunal report writing, attending Mental Health Act Review Tribunals and Managers Hearings, granting Sec 17 leave, revoking CTOs, recommending CTOs, etc. Assume clinical responsibility for adult patients with mental illness admitted acutely from community services (All admissions will be gate- kept by the Crisis Resolution/Home Treatment team) Undertake all work in the context of the recovery approach, which is emphasised across the Trust, placing the service user at the centre of care planning and decision making Attend the ward daily to review patients, enable facilitation of the care program approach and involve carers when appropriate at each stage of the inpatient stay. Provide support and training to other health care professionals and support service users through the care pathway as required whilst working with other teams in the community setting Lead on the delivery of high-quality care in all settings and be mindful of quality targets set by the Trust and those set nationally Continue to develop the inpatient setting as a therapeutic milieu Maintain strong links with the specialist adult mental health services Develop an expertise and knowledge of local services for people with mental health problems and refer to facilities available to specialist mental health services including psychotherapy and psychology services based in secondary care Provide appropriate clinical supervision and training for junior medical staff and lead the multidisciplinary team Take part in mandatory Trust audit programmes and also develop local relevant audit cycles to improve the function of the community rehabilitation team Actively participate in the Trusts clinical and strategic development Be active in Quality Improvement and undertake relevant QI projects with the rest of the team The post-holder will also be involved in the regular Consultant Duty Rota (approx 1:30) and s12 On Call Rota (approx. 1:30)
