As Product Manager, you will lead the Search function, setting a clear product vision and taking end-to-end responsibility for delivering high-quality, efficient, and user-centred digital services that support Enforcement operations. You will develop and prioritise value-driven product roadmaps and backlogs, informed by a deep understanding of user needs, business priorities, and the policy, legislative, and regulatory environment.

Working closely with multidisciplinary agile scrum teams, you will provide day-to-day leadership, drive continuous improvement, and role model an inclusive and collaborative culture that delivers value for money and consistent service standards. You will engage with users and stakeholders to communicate product benefits, influence decision-making and policy development, and ensure feedback shapes ongoing transformation. The role also includes line management responsibility for one member of staff, supporting their development and performance.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Working closely with the Head of Business Services to maintain and communicate the vision for the Search product, ensuring it is clearly understood by the immediate team, the wider service team, and key stakeholders. The wider team includes representatives from Operations, Digital Services and Technology, Human Resources, Learning and Development, Estates, and Finance.
  • Providing leadership to your team of Product Specialists, enabling them to deliver products aligned with the service vision and equipping them to share detailed product knowledge with stakeholders, including DVSA Operations, Digital Services and Technology, DfT, and industry representatives.
  • Developing an expert understanding of user needs and championing these throughout product delivery.
  • Creating and prioritising a product backlog, writing clear and actionable user stories, and making informed decisions based on data.
  • Engaging with users and stakeholders through multiple channels to drive adoption and effective use of the product.

Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need. We aim to empower line managers to create teams where people can flourish and deliver excellent outcomes for the public.
