We are seeking a qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team on a temporary cover basis. This role is to support staff absence and help us maintain staff to child ratios until the end of the academic year.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing within a nurturing early years environment. This position is ideal for someone looking for temporary or part time work who is passionate about early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the learning and development of children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Help maintain safe and appropriate staff to child ratios at all times.
Create a warm, caring, and stimulating environment where children feel safe and valued.
Support children through play based learning, following their interests and developmental needs.
Observe, monitor, and contribute to children’s progress and development.
Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety policies are followed at all times.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive and supportive team environment.
Communicate effectively with staff and, where appropriate, parents and carers.
Person Specification
Essential:
Relevant Early Years qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 or above).
Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework.
A genuine passion for working with young children.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Enhance DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:
Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
Paediatric First Aid training.
