We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Housekeeper.

As a key member of the ward team, you will play an essential role in coordinating patient facilities and services, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment for all service users. Your work will directly support the smooth running of the ward and enhance the experience of patients, visitors and staff.

The core responsibilities of this role include maintaining high standards of cleanliness, carrying out minor maintenance tasks and supporting a range of duties tailored to patients’ individual needs as directed by the Ward Manager.

You will work closely with contractors, support services and other hospital departments, monitoring quality standards and taking action where required to maintain an excellent environment of care. You will also be responsible for ordering, managing and safely storing ward supplies.

Ensure compliance with all Trust policies / procedures and confidentiality at all times.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness within the environment in accordance with Trust Policies Report any adverse incidents that occur within the Unit to the Senior Nurse, as per Trust Guidelines

Assist the nursing staff by carrying out errands such as delivering/collecting items from other departments

Assist in the organisation of the ward on a day to day basis by maintaining adequate supplies of stores, catering equipment, linen and other necessary equipment. Ensure professional appearance at all times, to service users, visitors and staff Maintain confidentiality at all times

Remain up-to-date with changes to service user needs

To assist, with supervision, in the preparation of information/educational resources for patients and relatives in hospital, aiming to encourage independence and promote health for all service users.

To assist in the collection of service user experience feedback

To ensure that all Trust policies, protocols and procedures are adhered to by all staff, any incidents or occurrences to be reported to the Senior Sister as soon as possible.

To maintain effective communication and professional relationships with all areas, within the Division, and other clinical areas within the Trust.
