Registered AHP Degree Apprentice - Podiatry Apprentice (Band 4)

Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) Academy has partnered with theUniversity of East Londonto deliver this exciting four-year Podiatry apprenticeship programme. On successful completion, you will achieve a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry and be eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

• This is a developmental role over four years. You will work towards successful completion of the BSc Degree in Podiatry while undertaking supervised clinical practice across a range of community and healthcare settings
• You will be supported throughout the programme by experienced podiatrists, practice educators, and the CLCH Academy, with protected learning time and structured supervision.
• On successful completion of the programme and HCPC registration, apprentices will be eligible to apply for Band 5 podiatrist roles
Eligibility criteria
To be considered, applicants must demonstrate a minimum of one year’s experience within a clinical healthcare setting and meet the following requirements:
• Aged 18 or over on the first day of the apprenticeship
• Able to work 37.5 hours per week, including off-the-job training
• UK Maths and English Level 2 or GCSE Grade C/4 (original certificates required)
• Level 3 qualification including Science, equivalent to 120 UCAS points (original certificates required)
• Not currently undertaking another Apprenticeship or DfE-funded FE/HE programme
• Ordinarily resident in the UK for three years prior to programme start
• Appropriate residency/visa status covering the full duration of the apprenticeship

This is a shared arrangement between CLCH and UEL, with the academic part of the training provided by the University you will undertake modules as detailed below:
• Professional Practice and Mental Health
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Podiatric Practice, Pathology and Pharmacology
• Musculoskeletal (MSK) Assessment and Management
• Clinical Reasoning and Research Methods

Key Areas of Practice for Podiatry Apprentices:
• Patients with problems related to endocrine and rheumatological function
• Patients with problems related to musculoskeletal function and sporting activities
• Patients with problems related to neurological function
• Patients with problems related to dermatological function
• Patients requiring nail surgery
• Patients located in a variety of healthcare and community settings

The funding for the training element of this post comes from the Apprentice Levy.
