We are recruiting a Team Supervisor for Connect to Work in West Sussex to support our teams

Connect to Work is a national, government-funded initiative, aimed at empowering individuals facing barriers to finding employment across West Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

You will be at the heart of delivering the service in West Sussex, working with a caseload of participants and with local employers, to provide information, advice, guidance, support, and to help people move into meaningful employment.

Salary: £44,075 to £47,181 per annum

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2029

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)

Location: based at County Hall, West Street, Chichester PO19 1RQ with required countywide travel.

Interview Date: Friday 06 March and Monday 09 March 2026

This role requires the successful candidate to travel independently to various venues and council locations across the County, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool Cars and Bikes available.

Regular attendance at your base location will also be necessary, and there will be opportunities for remote work. Final arrangements will be confirmed with the successful candidate.

About the Job

In this people-focused, challenging and rewarding position, you will support a team of Employment Advisors who work directly with people in the community. You will empower and enable this team to make transformative, and positive changes in the lives of participants.

As Team Supervisor, you will support a team of Employment Advisors and their caseloads, offering 1-1 and team-wide specialist advice and guidance, overseeing team performance, facilitating peer support and ensuring fidelity to the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) Supported Employment models.

You will offer practical and outcome-focused information and guidance to your team of Employment Advisors and have the insight, specialist knowledge and judgement to escalate problems and flag concerns to senior colleagues.

You will support Employment Advisors with employer engagement and will respond proactively where you identify training or upskilling needs.

Your team will be working with diverse client groups and in various county-wide locations. There will be a routine requirement to travel to different locations across the county.

You will be based in a welcoming and inclusive team, with access to training, peer support and wellbeing resources.

We would love to hear from you if you have

  • Good organisational skills: capable of managing a caseload and prioritising competing demands effectively.
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with a wide range of people, including members of the wider community, service participants, as well as employers and clinical or specialist support teams.
  • Emotional intelligence and the ability to empathise with, build and maintain rapport with people with significant barriers.
  • The ability to use assessment processes and to manage risk with people who may have complex needs and barriers.
  • Tenacity, resilience and resourcefulness - the ability to overcome challenging situations and find alternative solutions.
