About the Role We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and skilled Teaching Partner to join our supportive primary school team. The successful candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and will play a key role in helping pupils thrive both academically and emotionally.
This role will be working in LKS2 during the morning with a class, and will then be working 1.1 with a child in KS1 for part of lunchtime and supporting them in class during the afternoon.
This role involves working closely with class teachers, the SENCo and wider school staff to provide targeted support to individuals and small groups of pupils.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom
· Support pupils to access learning, regulate emotions and develop positive behaviours
· Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote wellbeing and engagement
· Implement support strategies for children as directed
· Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, parents/carers and external professionals
· Promote inclusion and ensure pupils feel safe, valued and supported
About You
· Have experience supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs (essential)
· Be patient, empathetic and resilient, with a calm and consistent approach
· Have a good understanding of behaviour support strategies and inclusive practice
· Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
· Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
