What skills and experience we're looking for
The Headteacher and Governors of Upperby Primary School wish to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and suitably qualified teacher to join our school on a temporary, fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.
This position is suitable for an experienced, bright and dynamic teacher who is eager to join a well-run school with excellent support from staff, parents and governors, and who meets the person specification for this post. Key Stage 1 experience is essential.
The successful candidate will:
• Be an innovative and outstanding classroom practitioner with a passion for teaching
• Have a clear understanding of the National Curriculum, with KS1 experience essential
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to raising standards and achievement, planning effectively to meet the individual needs of all children
• Have high expectations of pupil behaviour and maintain high professional standards
• Be flexible, enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a strong team
• Act as an inspirational role model and play a full part in the life of the school
• Create a stimulating and purposeful learning environment
• Recognise the importance of building strong relationships with parents and the wider community
• Be able to lead a curriculum area and undertake additional responsibilities as required
• Fully support the ethos and values of Upperby Primary School
