We are committed to fostering diverse teams where everybody can bring their authentic selves to work and feel that they belong. If you want to work for a Council where everybody is encouraged to meet their full potential and make a difference in our neighbourhoods, we would love to hear from you!

Your role:
You will work in the Digital Transformation Team and play a pivotal role in driving digital transformation across the council with a special focus on supporting our Children’s Directorate.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development and implementation of digital programmes enhancing services for our residents.

You will support the Children’s Directorate in leveraging digital solutions to improve outcomes for children and families.

Drive meaningful change by challenging existing processes and championing innovative approaches, all whilst staying ahead of digital trends and technologies, ensuring that the council remains at the forefront of digital transformation.

About you:
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions, automation and data analytics. You will lead initiatives that harness these technologies to deliver smarter, more efficient services and evidence measurable improvements in performance.

You should be able to identify opportunities for AI and digital innovation, translate business challenges into impactful projects, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. Excellent project management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to deliver and evidence efficiencies through technology are essential.

Flexibility and the ability to constructively challenge the norm are crucial, along with the talent to build and maintain strong relationships across teams and stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone who can communicate with clarity and empathy to influence and inspire established teams. You’ll need a curious mindset and a passion for exploring new technologies, combined with the ability to introduce and embed AI and digital tools in a way that feels inclusive and supportive. This role is about guiding teams with well-established ways of working, helping them explore new benefits and possibilities in a way that respects their expertise and experience, and bringing everyone along the journey together.
