The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Learning Support Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in the Lambeth area. This role has a strong focus on supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated communication, sensory, and behavioural needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about inclusion and dedicated to helping young people with Autism thrive both academically and socially within a structured secondary school environment. You will provide in-class, small-group, and 1:1 support, helping students to regulate emotions, build confidence, and engage positively with learning.

Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism across KS3 & KS4
* Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs, and social communication challenges
* Implement Autism-friendly strategies, including structured routines and visual support
* Deliver targeted interventions to support learning, engagement, and confidence
* Assist teachers in adapting tasks and resources to meet individual SEN needs
* Promote positive behaviour and support pupils in developing coping strategies
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
* Work closely with the SENCO and pastoral team to support EHCP targets and progress

Requirements:
* Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD) in a school or SEN setting
* Strong communication skills and confident behaviour management approach
* Patient, empathetic, and consistent mentoring style
* Ability to support pupils with sensory processing and emotional needs
* Passion for inclusive education and supporting young people with SEN
* Understanding of safeguarding, SEN needs, and adolescent development
