Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist provision in Barnet, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This is a long-term, temp-to-perm opportunity for someone with an SEN background who is confident working 1:1 with a student on a daily basis. The provision is particularly keen to hear from candidates with a strong interest in technology, sports or the arts, as these interests are used to engage and motivate learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a student with ASD
- Support learning, communication and emotional regulation
- Use interests such as tech, sports or the arts to promote engagement
- Implement strategies linked to EHCPs and individual support plans
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and therapists
- Promote independence, confidence and inclusion
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working in an SEN or specialist provision
- Strong understanding of ASD and associated needs
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
- Interest or background in technology, sport or the arts
- Understanding of safeguarding and SEN best practice
