Summary
The post holder will be required to conduct a wide range of administrative & clerical duties, to assist in the smooth running of the Breast Unit.
Assist the Screening Office Manager in the management of an efficient and effective day to day service of the Wirral Breast Unit Office.
To participate in the effective operation of the call & recall breast screening system adhering to NHSBSP guidelines. To deputise for the Screening Office Manager in their absence.
In conjunction with the Screening Office Manager ensure administrative duties achieve national standards.
Day to day supervision of administrative and clerical staff, in respect of rotas, training, work allocation, checking and evaluation of work, sickness absence management and annual leave.
To identify women eligible for screening by checking accuracy of information received from GPs.
• Assist Screening Office Manager with recruitment, induction & training of new staff.
• Assist Screening Office Manager to assess performance of Administration & Clerical team and assist with ensuring personal development plans and appraisals are completed.
• Assist the Screening Office Manager in the co-ordination of the High-Risk Database, including consulting with Family History Clinics, Genetics Service, and other Screening Units, ensuring all eligible women are invited for High-Risk Screening.
• Update and maintain accurate information, records, and statistics onto the National Breast Screening computer system for the Breast Screening Service, for both treatment and administration purposes including all patient details, ensuring that the Screening Programme are notified of outcome results in a timely and accurate manner.
• To create and use clinic templates, adapting to changing service needs in conjunction with resources available.
• To assist with the rest of the Breast Team to develop and monitor quality assurance measures to ensure the effective operation of the screening office procedures.
• To assist in daily/weekly/and monthly audits as directed by NHSBSP
To exercise independent judgment when dealing with patient and staff enquiries and problems, analysing, and resolving where possible.
• Consult with other disciplines within the Breast Service and other service users regarding patient test results and action accordingly.
