Weekend Cook – Independent Living Site, Kenfig Hill
13 paid hours per week | Saturday & Sunday| between the hours of 7.30am to 2.30pm
We are currently seeking a Weekend Cook to join our catering team at an independent living site in Kenfig Hill. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.
About the Role
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, well-balanced meals for our residents across breakfast and lunch services. You will also take on responsibility for maintaining a safe and compliant kitchen environment, stepping up to cover for the Chef Manager during periods of absence or holiday.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare breakfast and lunch to a consistently high standard
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and allergy requirements
Support both front and back-of-house operations
Manage kitchen operations independently or as part of a small team
Build positive relationships with residents, staff, and visitors
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in a similar cook/chef role is essential
A recognised food preparation qualification (NVQ Level 1/2/3 or equivalent) is highly desirable
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage warmly with a range of individuals
Able to self-manage, take initiative, and work effectively both alone and in a team
Working Hours
14 hours per weekend, inclusive of a 30-minute unpaid break per day
Paid hours: 13 per week
Shift pattern: Saturday & Sunday
