Part-Time Experienced Bookkeeper

Location: WS10, Walsall (Office-Based) Hours: 20–25 hours per week (flexible) Salary: Up to £16 per hour DOE Contract: Permanent (3-month probationary period)

About the Company: We are working in partnership with a professional scaffolding company specialising in tailored scaffolding solutions across the UK. Work ranges from small residential renovations to large commercial and industrial construction projects. Safety, reliability, and delivering projects on time and within budget are at the core of everything they do.

The Role: We are looking for a friendly, hardworking office-based bookkeeper to join their small/medium office team. This is a part-time permanent role, offering flexibility on how the 20–25 hours are worked across the week. You will play a key role in managing the accounts, with Sage Line 50/200 experience and project implementation on Sage forming a large part of the role.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

• Record sales and purchase invoices, receipts, and payments in Sage
• Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate general ledger entries
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
• Process payroll data, record deductions, and support payroll reporting
• Prepare VAT returns, assist with tax filings, and maintain compliance
• Track budgets, project costs, and profitability using Sage project/job costing
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation, and multi-currency transactions
• Generate reports, set up recurring journals, and automate Sage processes
• Support day-to-day office and financial operations, assisting with ad-hoc queries

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper
• knowledge of Sage Line 50/200, including project/job costing and implementation
• Organised, friendly, and able to fit into a small/medium office environment
• Reliable and hardworking with attention to detail
