Crynodeb
Maintains safety, privacy and dignity of all patients in the delivery of patient centred care, recognising and respecting differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs. Meeting patient's nursing care needs as identified. Undertakes a range of delegated clinical/therapeutic activities as part of the multi-disciplinary team. Patients have a range of health conditions. Activities will include but are not limited to: Administering Intramuscular Injections and Vaccinations to a planned co-hort of patients. (following appropriate Training). Completing long term condition questionnaires with patients (this may be by telephone). Contacting patients to promote health screening, Blood pressure management, support assessment of long term conditions e.g. asthma/COPD/Diabetes, using templates and agreed protocols. Accurately recording of physiological observations (e.g. weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, blood glucose, diabetic foot check etc), reporting these to the appropriate registered clinician. Chaperone duties as required. Assists in the provision of health education and advice on health promotion to patients and their carers. Carries out venepuncture as required, (following appropriate training). Structured Health screening, for new patients and at identified intervals. Wound Management when required following the care plan developed by the registered nurse. Plans and organises own workload and patient care activities. Maintain stock of drugs and equipment. Infection prevention and control in line with Priory policies - management of the daily working environment, supporting patients and other colleagues to follow local protocols, safe management of clinical waste including sharps and cytostatic/cytotoxic waste. Correct management of samples. Advise management team of equipment failure/maintenance requirements. Contribute to Quality data collation and internal/external audit as required. Undertakes administrative tasks in relation to own work, keeping accurate, contemporaneous patient records. Undertaking other duties as required in line with service provision.
