We are looking to recruit a passionate and innovative individual to provide a high standard of frontline management to our successful in-house catering team at Harrogate Convention Centre!

Matcham's is our in-house catering team here at Harrogate Convention Centre. We pride ourselves on quality produce and impeccable service and focus on supporting local suppliers and producers from the North of England, Yorkshire, and Harrogate. We cater to a variety of events and provide a range of services from a simple tea and coffee service to full-blown celebratory banquets.
We are a friendly and driven team who put our customers at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on delivering a professional, high standard service.
The Role
This is a varied and exciting role working within the newly formed in-house Catering Operation, Matcham's. We are looking for an innovative and dynamic leader who can inspire confidence to ensure high levels of service.
We manage a substantial number of events throughout the year from retail catering to high-profile Gala Dinners meaning no two days are the same. This a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a varied and exciting role. This role will include shift work so a flexible approach is required.
The responsibilities of the role include:
Food Service
Ensuring that the client expectations of hospitality food and food service are consistently delivered in line with the HCC Standards.
Continually monitoring the service and food provided at events and where necessary giving feedback to the Catering Supervisor/ service team to ensure the food and service is of the highest quality and in line with client requirements and the HCC standard.
To contribute with the team to ensure the service is provided in a professional and timely manner.
Financial
Understanding and interpreting the financial control systems relevant to Catering and use the information to measure performance and work with the Operations Manager to achieve Catering financial targets.
What you will bring
The ideal candidate will ideally have previous experience in a similar environment and will have a passion for hospitality. Self-motivation, strong communication and time management skills are essential for this role.
No two events are the same, so a resilient, positive and flexible attitude is essential.
You will ideally have:
Experience of managing in the catering / hospitality industry is essential to be able to meet the demands of this role
Experience in managing a team to deliver operations in a high volume catering environment
Knowledge of food safety regulations – qualifies to at least level 2 in food safety, but must be willing to progress to level 3
Experience of managing catering in the event sector would be an advantage
