Summary
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and environmentally conscious individual to join our team as a Litter Picker. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in designated public areas, contributing to a safer and more attractive community environment. The position offers an opportunity to work outdoors, promote sustainability, and engage with the local community. This a temporary position for at least 2 months but could be made permanent
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8am- 2pm overtime could be available
Rate of pay is £12.21 per hour
Responsibilities
Collect litter and waste from streets, parks, and public spaces using appropriate tools and safety equipment
Dispose of collected waste responsibly in designated bins or disposal sites
Monitor assigned areas regularly to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained
Report any hazards or maintenance issues encountered during patrols to the relevant authorities
Assist with organising community clean-up events when required
Engage courteously with members of the public, providing information if needed and promoting environmental awareness
Skills
Good command of English, both spoken and written, for effective communication with team members and the public
Excellent communication skills to interact politely with community members and colleagues
Customer service orientation, demonstrating friendliness and professionalism in all interactions
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail
Physical fitness to perform outdoor tasks, including bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods
