The successful post-holder will participate in elective operating sessions and a three tier 1 in 8 rota covering main theatres, critical care and maternity to provide 24-hour care. Our specialty doctors are expected to participate in at least two of these three clinical areas for their on-call duties.

• Take part in the regular resident anaesthetic team out of hours (on-call) duties with a primary responsibility to the Critical Care Unit, Obstetric Unit or Emergency Theatre.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working patterns to help the department provide a smooth running service
• Develop an interest in an area of anaesthesia with support from a consultant mentor
