Thompsons of Prudhoe
Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience) + Company car
Location: Regional office and decommissioning facility are in Northumberland, UK.
We’re looking for a proven Decommissioning Manager to lead offshore decommissioning projects from cradle to grave—owning business development, tendering, delivery, and completion.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Lead offshore decommissioning contracts end‑to‑end, representing the business
Build and deepen client relationships across oil, gas, and renewables
Own tendering activity—pricing and coordinating submissions
Drive delivery excellence between clients, subcontractors, site teams, and senior management
Support commercial valuations and identify variations early
Maintain programmes and present reports at client progress meetings
Contribute to weekly ops meetings, chair meetings with Site Management
Ensure contractual and legislative compliance
Embed safe systems of work (RAMS, permitry, POWRAs, daily briefings)
Collaborate with HSE, Environmental, Technical, Commercial and Bid teams
What experience you’ll bring:
Strong track record in offshore decommissioning
Credibility with clients and partners
Experience tendering and coordinating submissions
Strong project/programme management
Familiarity with RAMS and site safety leadership
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in oil and gas decommissioning and will be responsible for running our offshore decommissioning department with the support of our wider demolition business. This exciting role is centred around our decom facility at the Port of Blyth in Northumberland, where we complete offshore dismantling and disposal contracts including subsea assets as well as topside and jacket structures.
We are committed to making reasonable adjustments throughout the application, recruitment, and onboarding processes for candidates that require additional support and/or adjustments to be made. If you are having any difficulty applying, please contact our recruitment team at hr@thompsonsofprudhoe.com
