Summary

What You'll Be Responsible For Leadership & Strategy Working in partnership with the GP partners to deliver the practices mission, values, and strategic objectives Providing operational insight to support good decision-making Leading on implementing agreed changes and service developments Contributing to business planning and long-term sustainability Practice Operations Leading the day-to-day running of the practice Ensuring services are safe, effective, accessible, and person-centred Overseeing appointment systems, access, demand and capacity Ensuring compliance with NHS contractual requirements Monitoring performance and addressing issues proactively People & Workforce Leading, supporting, and developing the whole practice team Managing recruitment, induction, appraisals, and performance Promoting staff wellbeing, engagement, and retention Empowering staff to be solution-focused and confident in their roles Managing difficult conversations fairly and constructively, with HR support Fostering a positive, inclusive culture aligned with our values Finance & Contracts Managing practice finances, including PMS income, QOF, enhanced services, and additional income streams (including research) Budgeting, monitoring expenditure, and supporting financial planning Ensuring accurate and timely submissions and claims Liaising with accountants, payroll, and external advisors Governance, Compliance & Risk Acting as the lead for: CQC compliance and inspections Information governance and GDPR Health & safety, safeguarding, and employment law Maintaining policies, procedures, and risk registers Ensuring regulatory and contractual assurance Digital, Innovation & Improvement Overseeing effective use of practice systems Supporting new NHS and digital programmes Leading service improvement and efficiency initiatives Using data, feedback, and learning to drive continuous improvement External & Partnership Working Acting as the main operational contact with the PCN, ICB, and other stakeholders Representing the practice professionally at meetings Supporting PCN participation while protecting core practice priorities What Success Looks Like A well-run, resilient practice living its values A motivated, supported, and empowered team Strong, open relationships with the GP partners Clear operational control and financial confidence A positive, person-centred and community-focused patient experience Strong regulatory assurance
