Summary

We're looking for a Caretaker to join our Meadowhead Secondary School team based in Sheffield.

Location: Sheffield - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.

Hours: 40 hours per week (08:00-17:00) - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role

Join our friendly facilities management team at Meadowhead Secondary School where you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for students and staff. This rewarding position offers variety, independence and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the school community.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Mobile Caretaker, you'll be working within the Facilities Management team, supporting them in maintaining high-quality standards throughout the school premises. Your day to day will include:

-Carrying out building inspections and remedial maintenance tasks to ensure premises are safe and well-maintained

-Supporting room set-up for meetings and events, including furniture movement as needed

-Liaising with the Facilities Coordinator regarding work progress and contractor management

-Performing regular safety checks including fire alarm testing and water temperature monitoring

-Providing holiday and sickness cover for caretaking and cleaning staff as required

What are we looking for?

This role of Caretaker is great for you if:

-You have previous experience in caretaking or handyperson roles

-You're physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks

-You have a pleasant, patient approach and enjoy providing excellent customer service

-You communicate effectively and build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

-You're reliable, safety-conscious and happy to participate in an on-call rota (1 week in 3)
