What skills and experience we're looking for
Appleton Church of England Primary School, situated 6 miles from Oxford, is a vibrant community with confident children and a dedicated, energetic team of staff. We exemplify the positive aspects of a village school, while ensuring that we maintain a broader perspective through partnership with other schools and beyond. The governors are seeking to appoint a substantive headteacher with the capacity and commitment to:
• Inspire, nurture and lead our children, as well as our staff, in all aspects of school life
• Actively support and develop the distinct Christian ethos of our school
• Engage parents and carers in both the achievement of their children and the challenges that they tackle
• Communicate effectively with adults and children
• Drive improvement in the focus areas agreed with governors
• Form a strong, open, productive collaboration with the governing body; for example community engagement and higher-level attainment
• Partner with governors to deliver the vision for the school
• Evolve existing partnerships with other schools, as well as forging new links, to the mutual benefit of all
• Ensure that our school continues to build into being an integral part of the local community
