As a OBP Facilitator in our HMP Dovegate team, you will deliver a range of accredited offending behaviour programmes to individuals and groups. Working in line with national guidelines and standards, your primary goal will be to support participants' rehabilitation by ensuring treatment integrity and maintaining high-quality programme delivery.
What you’ll do as a OBP Facilitator
- Deliver structured group and individual sessions using core psychological principles and motivational techniques
- Assess potential participants to determine treatment readiness and identify any responsivity needs
- Keep accurate and timely records, including session notes, post-programme reports, and debriefs
- Engage positively with participants to encourage behavioural change
- Continuously reflect on and improve personal practice in line with the 6 core competencies:
- Attend regular supervision and complete mandatory and role-specific training
- Promote awareness of intervention programmes within the establishment and contribute to staff training
- Support wider departmental and establishment objectives as required

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and motivate resistant individuals
- Effective organisational skills and ability to manage a demanding workload
- A team player with a reflective, growth-focused approach
- Ability to challenge antisocial attitudes appropriately
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience in forensic settings or delivering psychological interventions
- Experience delivering accredited offending behaviour programmes
- Awareness of key psychological theories relevant to offending, including 'what works' literature and motivational techniques
- Understanding of diversity, responsivity, and risk management in offender rehabilitation
- Relevant qualifications or training in psychology, social care, or related fields are advantageous
Vetting and checks:
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
