Your New Company
You will be joining the Teachers' Pay and Pensions Team within the Department of Education, based at Rathgael House. The team plays a key role in delivering accurate payroll, budgeting and pension-related services, working within a supportive environment committed to high standards and public service.
Your New Role
As a Staff Officer Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of accounts, budget monitoring, and the authorisation and transfer of all payroll payments. The role also includes month‑end reporting, supporting year‑end audit tasks, analysing payroll and pension reports, and contributing to debt management processes. This position can accommodate full‑time or four‑day‑week working patterns, offering hybrid working options.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Full accountancy qualification
- Experience in year‑end accounts and/or budgeting
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage financial data accurately
- The capability to work effectively across month‑end and year‑end timetables
