Term-time 39 weeks pa

William Morris School, part of Novalis Trust, is a charity that supports children with neurodevelopmental difficulties. The school is one of the few educational establishments in the country to adopt a truly ‘trauma-informed’ and ‘trauma-responsive’ approach to care, therapy and education.
We are currently seeking dedicated term-time only welfare staff to work in our small 39-week boarding provision, due to open in April 2026.
Hours: 39 weeks pa, term-time only working a two-week fixed rota which is on average 40 hours per week & two sleep-ins. This will also include working some weekends. Full and part time options available.
You will be establishing key support relationships with pupils in their boarding provision while providing them with the care, guidance and support they need to thrive. We offer a supportive environment with a fixed two-week rota.
What we offer:
• Excellent training opportunities - including RQF Level 3, Level 4 Certificate in Trauma Informed Care
• From £12.60 per hour (£13.80 at weekends) and higher rates of pay for staff with RQF Level 3) and £89 sleep-in rate
• Full time and part time options available
• Staff are supported in a community setting with good team relationships
• Term time holidays in line with Gloucestershire schools
• Clear career progression path for staff who wish to develop their careers within the Trust
• Free onsite parking and free lunch/meals provided
• Entitled to apply for Blue Light discount card

• Employee welcome bonus where you could earn an additional £600 in the first year, with payments made between 6 weeks and 1 year (subject to the normal PAYE deductions)
Requirements for the role:
• Some experience of working with people in a person-centred way is desirable but not essential
• An ability to adapt your approach to individual needs and come up with creative solutions to overcome challenges will also help
• Kind, caring, adaptable and reliable
