Our finance landscape is evolving, with a major modernisation programme underway—including the transition from Sage 200 to a modern cloud-based system—and a strong focus on embedding AI and automation into everyday finance operations.
In this role, you’ll be central to designing, implementing, and embedding our new core finance system. You’ll support, maintain, and enhance finance applications, with a particular focus on the core platform. You’ll help shape how our systems work by configuring, developing, and optimising tools and reporting solutions. Acting as the link between system users and technical teams, you’ll translate complex business needs into practical, effective solutions that improve performance and drive continuous improvement.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range of £42,000 to £50,000 p.a. (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Location: Remote
Hours: 37 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical and functional support for Sage 200, its successor and related finance systems.
• Manage user access, security roles, and permissions.
• Troubleshoot issues and work with vendors on complex cases.
• Maintain up-to-date system documentation.
• Support/lead the implementation of the new finance system including, solution design, configuration, testing (SIT/UAT), change management and cutover.
• Build and maintain reports using Power BI, Power Query, and Excel.
• Develop workflows, templates, and forms.
• Work closely with Finance stakeholders to design, test, and implement system improvements.
• Identify, prototype and productise AI use cases in Finance.
• Act as the primary IT liaison for the Finance team, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and reporting.
• Deliver training and guidance for Finance and IT colleagues.
• Coordinate with external providers on escalated system changes.
• Assist in planning and delivering upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
Skills and Experience
Essential
• Proven experience supporting finance-related applications.
• Strong understanding of finance processes (AP, AR, GL, budgeting).
• Hands‑on Power BI / Power Query / advanced Excel.
• Ability to configure workflows, security roles, and automation.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable working with technical and finance stakeholders alike.
Desirable
• Prior involvement in cloud-based Finance System selection/implementation
• Experience with system integrations and APIs.
• Experience with SQL or other scripting tools is beneficial.
• Ability to frame and test AI use cases (define precision/recall, acceptance thresholds, exception handling, audit logging).
• Exposure to other business applications and willingness to support wider systems.
• Experience in a hybrid IT/Finance role.
• Accounting qualification/part‑qualification is a plus, not a prerequisite (we value systems/process expertise equally).
