A thriving, purpose-built small animal veterinary practice in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical focus to join their growing team. The modern clinic is equipped with advanced diagnostic technology and excellent facilities, allowing the delivery of exceptional care across both medicine and surgery.

The practice is well-established, busy, and designed to maintain high clinical standards while providing a supportive and positive working environment for veterinary professionals. The team includes multiple Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and a culture of continuous professional development.

Role Overview

The Veterinary Surgeon will work in a varied role encompassing consultations, surgical procedures, and case follow-ups. They will have the opportunity to develop a special interest in soft tissue surgery or orthopaedics within a forward-thinking practice. Two of the current surgeons are already undertaking certificate-level training, making this an ideal opportunity for a veterinary professional seeking career progression in surgery.

The successful candidate will be confident working both independently and as part of a team, with some sole charge responsibilities during evenings and weekends. Clinical autonomy is encouraged, with excellent support available when needed.

Location and Lifestyle

Rota

• Full time, 39 hours per week
• Mix of early, mid, and late shifts (8am–5:30pm, 9am–6:30pm, 9:30am–7pm & 11:30am–9pm)
• 1:4 weekends (9am–3pm)

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum three years of UK clinical experience, ideally with surgical exposure
• Confidence working independently and collaboratively within a team
