Are you a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse with experience in a hospital setting? If you're seeking a fulfilling career in a bustling hospital environment, this could be the perfect role for you.
Join the dynamic team at a 24-hour hospital renowned for its commitment to providing the highest standard of care to patients. This beautiful RCVS-accredited practice in East Sussex boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a team of passionate professionals dedicated to excellence in veterinary medicine.
The purpose-built hospital is equipped with high-tech equipment and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. There is a dedicated wards for cats, dogs, exotics, isolation, and day procedures, supported by a fantastic team of nurses and support staff. The team includes multiple certificate holders with a wide range of clinical interests and expertise, offering referral services for orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotics. There is also a full out-of-hours team alongside our day team, ensuring comprehensive care around the clock.
The team are committed to the continuous development of our team members, offering ample opportunities for learning and development through dedicated in-house and external CPD.
The role involves managing a varied caseload, including both emergency and advanced medical cases referred from the practices other five branches and also supporting other local practices. This is a full-time position, working four days a week with a 1:8 weekend rota and a Monday off in lieu. The in-house out-of-hours team ensures smooth handovers and continuity of care.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a hospital environment and confidence in managing a range of medical and surgical cases. Excellent nursing and communication skills are essential, along with a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality care to pets and their owners. Strong organisational and multitasking skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ongoing professional development are also crucial.
The fantastic benefits package includes a competitive salary of £31,000 - £34,000 depending on experience, six weeks holiday per year (including Bank Holidays), the option to buy and sell holiday, enhanced sick, maternity, and paternity pay, RCVS and VDS fees covered plus one other subscription, £600 towards CPD and three days leave, employee discount, pension scheme, and Health Shield Scheme.
