ACT 2 CAM - Drama, Arts and Film for Young People

We deliver inspiring filmmaking, drama, and creative arts programmes for children and young people (ages 4-25), building confidence, oracy, and creative skills through hands-on film production, acting, and storytelling.

We believe great work comes from diverse teams. We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.

Location:
Primarily flexible, hybrid - Whitley Bay based office and remote/home-working. Some school outreach may involve regional travel (expenses paid).

Flexible, hybrid working arrangement, primarily Monday-Thursday, with the majority of hours office-based (sales outreach, editing, archiving, and planning) and some remote/from-home flexibility to support a healthy work-life balance.

The first 3 months of employment will be a probationary period.

Role Overview:
This role is primarily sales-focused (driving growth in school subscriptions to Oracy TV and our creative programmes), with supportive opportunities to contribute to video editing/post-production and organising our extensive 14+ year archive of youth films.

It’s a brilliant opportunity to develop skills in creative B2B sales, content creation, and digital asset management while making a real difference in a long-established youth film organisation.

This is an ideal stepping-stone/entry-level role for new entrants to youth arts, media education, creative sales, or facilitation; perfect for recent graduates, career changers, or those building experience.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and creative person to join our small team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sales & Schools Outreach (Core focus - growing ACT 2 CAM services/products into schools):
Proactively sell ACT 2 CAM services and products to schools and educational partners.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with teachers, heads of department, and decision-makers.
Identify leads, email/phone interested parties, pitch tailored offerings, follow up, and manage the sales pipeline.
Support marketing and promotion efforts (e.g., simple outreach materials, enquiry tracking).
Work towards targets to increase school partnerships and programme uptake.
- Asset Management & Content Creation (Supporting Role - Enhancing Sales & Impact):
Organise, catalogue, and tag our 14+ year archive of youth filmmaking footage and related assets into a searchable, structured digital system (using Google Drive, Adobe tools, or basic DAM principles).
Create engaging short-form content (e.g., promo clips, social media teasers, highlight reels) from existing footage and archive material to support sales pitches, marketing efforts, and school outreach.
Log metadata (e.g., project details, participants, dates, themes) and apply consistent tagging/filing conventions to make assets easily discoverable for future reuse, promo creation, or programme development.
Essential Skills & Qualities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, clear verbal/written presentation, and the ability to build warm, trusting relationships with teachers, school leaders, parents, and young participants.
Highly organised and detail-oriented mindset, with strong administrative habits.
Proven ability to sell and persuade - comfortable initiating contact, pitching tailored programmes/services to educational decision-makers, handling objections, following up persistently, and working towards achievable sales/growth targets.
Comfortable and confident working directly with children and young people in a safe, supportive environment (enhanced DBS check required; we will arrange and cover this if not already held).
Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable; thrives in a flexible hybrid working setup with autonomy over remote tasks.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition; file management/digital asset tools) and everyday office/digital platforms (Google Workspace/Drive/Mail/Docs/Sheets for tracking leads/pipeline).

Desirable:
Previous experience in youth work, creative education, drama/film facilitation, school outreach, or working in educational/charitable settings with children and young people.
Track record in sales, outreach, or business development — especially B2B sales to schools, pitching creative/educational programmes, or relationship-based selling in the arts/non-profit sector.
Full UK driving licence and access to own transport; expenses reimbursed
Familiarity with digital asset management principles, archiving best practices, metadata/tagging systems, or organising large media libraries.
Marketing/content creation skills (e.g., creating simple promo videos, social media clips, or outreach materials to support sales efforts).
Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, or inclusive practice in youth settings (We will also train you).
What We Offer:
Meaningful impact: Help young people grow in confidence, creativity, and key skills.
Clear progression: Hours to increase as role develops; commission post-probation.
Flexible hybrid working with remote flexibility and adaptable hours.
Portfolio-building (teaching experience, edited films, sales results).
Supportive small-team setting with guidance and training.
Potential for future growth in hours/responsibility.
How to Apply:
Send your CV and a short covering email (max 200 words) expressing interest to info@act2cam.com, and we will send you an application form.

Application deadline: Friday 13th February
Interview Week: WB 23rd February
Role begins: March 2nd, 2026
