Summary


The role for the Urology Cancer Nurse Specialist is to provide evidence-based specialist care and support for patients diagnosed with Urology Cancer.

The Urology Cancer Nurse Specialist will work with the Urology CNS team and the dedicated multi-disciplinary teams within the Trust. This will include having active involvement in the referral, investigations, treatment and follow-up of patients with malignant disease, providing continuity of care and improving the quality of life for this patient group.

To support the Urology CNS team with the provision of personalised care and promote supportive self-management for patients following treatment and other service developments.

The successful candidate would follow the ASCEND programme and you would be placed according to current experience to progress as a CNS. Banding is offered according depending on previous experience.
• Act as keyworker and advocate for patients with Urological Cancers
• Holistically assess patient needs, plan, deliver and evaluate care to meet people’s health and wellbeing needs.
• Plan, develop, implement and evaluate programmes to promote health and wellbeing and prevent adverse effects on health and wellbeing.
• Provide support for patients at time of diagnosis and/or breaking bad news, during and after treatment.
