Crynodeb
Full-time including participation in a full shift rota system working 1 in 10. Duties include day to day care of patients on the Surgical/Orthopaedics Wards, attendance at ward rounds, operating lists and general out-patient clinics and the responsibility for the Consultants' patients on the wards. A full shift system in general surgery is worked. The postholder will primarily work along the F2 doctors reviewing the patients on the trauma orthopaedic ward, the children's ward and other orthopaedic beds. The postholder will also arrange the admissions and initial management of emergency admissions. The eight Orthopaedic Consultants at Worthing hold Out-Patients and Fracture Clinics and admit trauma patients to Worthing and elective and rehabilitation patients. Consultants hold daily Fracture Clinics and there are Plaster Room facilities and technicians and full x-ray facilities and secretarial support at both hospitals. The CT and MRI Scanners are at Worthing Hospital. The department is computerised using PACS radiology.
