Teaching Assistant Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, Up to £130 per day
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, on a temporary basis. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing classroom and community-based support to students, helping to deliver personalised learning plans, and contributing to a positive and inclusive educational environment. This term-time only position is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning without weekend commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one and small group support across various subjects, including maths, English, and science
Assist with classwork, homework, and exam preparation to help students achieve their academic goals
Help set and track individual student targets, delivering tailored interventions to meet student needs
Support learning both in the classroom and during off-site activities, such as educational trips and community-based projects
Act as a key worker for assigned pupils, providing emotional support and guidance
Supervise lunch, breaks, and cover duties as required, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students
Promote safeguarding and student wellbeing, contributing to a positive and supportive school environment
Required Skills & Experience
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above), with a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy
Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or community settings, such as teaching, childcare, or youth work
Confidence using Microsoft Office and basic digital tools, including educational software and technology
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
A positive, flexible, and team-oriented approach, with a commitment to supporting the needs of students and the school community
