About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Teacher to join our team at Craig y Parc, working within a highly supportive, trans‑disciplinary environment to deliver outstanding education and care for children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional who shares our ethos and is passionate about inclusive education, collaboration, and supporting pupils to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a class and work collaboratively with education, care and therapy professionals to meet the holistic needs of pupils
- Deliver high‑quality teaching in line with the school’s curriculum and Ambito’s strategic direction
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons informed by effective assessment and pupil progress tracking
- Implement group and individual education programmes, contributing to class and whole‑school curriculum development
- Ensure excellent standards of physical, emotional and personal care, including hygiene, health and safety
- Maintain high‑quality record keeping, planning, assessment and reporting
- Contribute to and attend pupil‑centred reviews, meetings and annual reviews
- Work in partnership with parents/guardians, external agencies and dual placements
- Support innovative use of technology to enhance communication and learning
- Promote a positive, safe and well‑maintained learning environment
- Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, quality, health and safety, and organisational policies
- Participate in staff training, professional development and knowledge sharing
- Support continuity of education during absences through effective planning
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Principal / Head of Education
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – DfE number required
- Degree‑level qualification
- Experience teaching pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures
- Ability to work effectively within a trans‑disciplinary team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong IT skills
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons aligned to the school curriculum
- Flexibility, resilience and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Empathy, sensitivity and compassion when working with pupils, families and colleagues
