SALARY RANGE M4 to UPS with TLR

Qualifications: QTS / Nasenco or NPQSEND qualification desirable but not essential if not already held the statutory NPQ will be undertaken within 3 years of appointment.

Part time teaching commitment with time for SENCo role, key stage to be agreed dependent upon successful candidate experience.

You are an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record for raising standards.
You are knowledgeable about all aspects of SEN- cognition and learning, communication and language, SEMH, physical difficulties.
You have experience of or the capability of developing and delivering programmes for pupils with SEND .
You have an enthusiastic and creative approach to supporting children with SEND and are able to support colleagues in developing a strong inclusive practice.
You have knowledge of the EYFS and the National Curriculum as well as national strategies related to teaching pupils with SEN.
You have proven excellent behaviour management skills and are interested in innovative ways to teach to minimise less appropriate behaviour.
You have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
You are a good team player, with a caring and dedicated approach and with the ability to motivate others.
You are energetic and are willing to engage in all aspects of school life to achieve the best for the children within the school.
You have a good knowledge and understanding of effective record keeping and how to present data effectively.
You have a positive professional attitude and the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders.
You are flexible and willing to try out new initiatives and are able to manage your own time effectively .

Key responsibilities include:
Shaping the school’s overarching SEND strategy working alongside other senior leaders to do so.
Being an active member of the school’s Senior Leadership team (SLT team).
Having day-to-day responsibility for the coordination and record keeping of SEND provision to support individual pupils. This will involve supporting children in class and in small groups if necessary.
Advising class teachers on strategies to support pupils, who may or may not have diagnosed SEND, using the graduated approach to providing SEND support.
Delivering or arranging for CPD to all staff relating to SEND provision / developments.
Being involved in decisions about the effective deployment of the school’s delegated budget, support staff and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively.
Liaising with the parents/carers of pupils in line with the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
Working with the Head teacher and senior leaders to ensure that the school meets its responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 with regards to reasonable adjustments and access arrangements for assessments
The ability to form positive relationships with parents and families to support and engage learning of pupils.
A commitment to ensuring the safeguarding of all children as a deputy designated safeguarding leader.
A willingness to lead on Mental Health and Well-being
Support early identification by working within the EYFS team.
Be responsible in ensuring children receive the best start in the Nursery provision
