Workshop Manager
Salary: Up to £48,000 depending on experience plus benefits
Location: Stafford Park Workshop, Telford
Hours: 40 hours per week

What will you be doing?
- Full day-to-day management of workshop operations at Stafford Park, with oversight of the Wem
- workshop
- Managing Supervisors, Technicians, Administration, and Stores teams
- Ensuring Health & Safety compliance, including auditing and contractor control
- Full responsibility for workshop P&L;, budgets, and cost control
- Ensuring DVSA and MOT compliance standards are maintained at all times
- Managing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of a mixed fleet of vehicles and plant
- Driving frontline vehicle availability to meet operational requirements
- Providing KPI and performance data to operational, transport, and contract managers
- Managing procurement, supplier relationships, and external repairs
- Carrying out quality checks, workshop inspections, inductions, and contractor controls
- Supporting repairs alongside the team when required
- Holding regular engagement meetings with operational and contract stakeholders
What are we looking for?
- City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC, or ONC in HGV or Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of HGVs, RCVs, plant, and workshop operations
- Proven supervisory or management experience within a busy workshop environment
- Thorough understanding of DVSA, MOT, and compliance standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills
- Ability to manage performance, productivity, and staff development
- Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge
- Ability to work under pressure and actively resolve problems
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- HGV licence or willingness to undertake
- CPC in Road Transport Management (or willingness to work towards)
- IRTEC accreditation
- Waste / RCV vehicle experience
- Forklift (counterbalance) licence
