About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join our team in the nuclear sector. This is a shift-based role, requiring flexibility and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment in accordance with strict safety and regulatory standards.
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance to ensure plant reliability.
- Accurately record operational data and report any anomalies promptly.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and other team members to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all nuclear safety, environmental, and quality assurance requirements.
Essential Requirements:
- Technical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
- Previous experience in a regulated or high-hazard industry (nuclear, chemical, power generation preferred).
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a rotating schedule.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Be able to wear full personal protective equipment, including respiration protection.
- Required to undertake a disclosure and barring service (DBS) check
- Required to become monitored workers under the ionising radiations regulations
Desirable:
- Knowledge of nuclear safety culture and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with plant control systems and instrumentation.
