Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Assistant to join our team, primarily based at Brighton Racecourse. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards across a busy and varied site.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventative and reactive building maintenance, including painting, basic carpentry, and basic electrical and plumbing tasks
Assist the Maintenance Manager by coordinating with and overseeing contractors on site when required
Complete maintenance tasks independently or as part of a team, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently
Accurately complete maintenance records, permits, and compliance documentation using Microsoft Office
Identify and report maintenance issues, defects, or hazards to the Maintenance Manager in a timely manner
Communicate effectively with colleagues and contractors to support the smooth operation of the site
Requirements
Proven experience working in a maintenance or handy person role
Preferably hold a qualification in an electrical or plumbing trade
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload
Confident computer user, including Microsoft Office applications
Reliable, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
High attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
